Blown-In and Cellulose Insulation in Illinois
Illinois Spray Foam Insulation installs blown-in insulation for homes and businesses that need better temperature retention without turning the project into a guessing game.
Blown-in material is often a practical fit for attic floors, enclosed wall cavities and retrofitting work where older insulation has lost its ability to resist heat flow properly. If your HVAC system seems to run constantly, the problem may not be the equipment at all. Old homes tend to have energy leaks, and certain types of insulation can lose effective performance over time due to settling. New insulation can help keep heat inside during winter and outside during summer, so the system is not overworked and utility bills are not driven up by avoidable air leakage.
Where blown-in insulation makes sense
We look at the project, the budget and the heat resistance needs before recommending a material. Blown-in cellulose can be useful when large gaps need to be filled quickly. Fiberglass can be a better fit in open wall areas with fewer obstructions. Foam board is easy to cut to size, holds its shape and does not tend to settle. Spray foam remains the most efficient option for temperature retention, energy savings and soundproofing with open cell foam, but we are not here to push products that benefit us. We want the solution to match the building.
Our service footprint is broader than one product. We install open cell spray foam, closed cell spray foam, cellulose, fiberglass, foam board, polyisocyanurate, polyurethane board, polystyrene board and mineral wool. We work in attics, crawl spaces, interior walls, exterior walls, offices, pole barns, metal buildings and other residential and commercial spaces. We also handle soundproofing, retrofitting and insulation removal when old material has to come out first. In short, we can install any type of insulation you want, and we will explain the tradeoffs in plain language.
Blown-in insulation for attics and walls
In an attic, the goal is to cover the floor evenly and reduce the energy leaks that make rooms below uncomfortable. In walls, the goal is to improve comfort without leaving voids around wiring, doors and windows. Soundproof insulation is often installed in interior walls to stop noise such as loud stereos or rowdy kids from leaking into other areas of the home. If the project calls for a different material, we will say so. If blown-in cellulose or fiberglass is the right call, we will install it correctly and cleanly.
Every estimate starts with questions about your building, not a scripted pitch. Tell us whether the space is a home, office, metal building or pole barn, whether the project is new construction or a retrofit, and whether removal is needed before new material goes in. We serve Bloomington, Champaign, Chicago, Danville, Decatur, Peoria and Springfield. You can also review attic insulation, crawl space insulation and insulation removal if those are part of the project.

Questions
Common questions
What decides the price of spray foam?
Foam type, installed depth, the area covered and prep work. Every estimate itemizes all four.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. Free, written and itemized before any work begins.
Open-cell or closed-cell, which costs more?
Closed-cell costs more per board foot and delivers a higher R-value per inch plus a moisture barrier; open-cell covers more area per dollar.
